Operation Skinny Jeans: Goals

Goals

New Year, New Goals!

I am so happy with how far I have come in 2013. I ran a mile for the first time in my whole life! I completed two fitness competitions, Commit to Fit and Denver's Healthiest Companies. I went from a size 26 to a size 16 and I lost 50 lbs. I learned about myself and my binge eating disorder and how to overcome it. I proved to myself that I am strong and that I can do ANYTHING!

But those were last year's goals. Time for some new ones.

I love the idea that seeing is believing. So I have made my goals into a dream board. I want to visualize my goals and make them a reality.

And because I am the epitome of a type A Virgo, I have broken them into quarters :D

    1. Good luck! I think the best head start is just to start. Usually if its a dramatic change, you will see results in the first week! You have to start somewhere :) Alex and I both put up weekly menus that include shopping lists, so following one of those could be a great first step! Good luck, I can't wait to see how you do!

  4. It never dawned on me but that quote is perfect. I do reward myself with food and then regret eating anything in the first place. Thank you for this quote.

    1. I think it's almost second nature! When I used to get good grades, we would get ice cream. We reward kids for good behavior with candy. Our whole lives we think "Yeah I did awesome, I get cake!" or some variation. I think it's important to remember not to do this, because its really counterproductive :)

      Thanks for stopping by :)

  9. Popped over here from Skinny Meg to read a few posts, love this quote.. While I am no longer trying to associate rewards with food, I realized when reading this that I do still reward my kids with ice cream or special "treats" occasionally because it's not a regular thing at our house. Kind of eye opening, really, we are going to start rewarding through activities or games, etc. so they don't follow that same mantra into adulthood. Here's to raising a healthy youth! I'm new to the blogging world, started reading Mama Laughlin, then Skinny Meg, and now you! Get it, girl! You rock! Come by my page and see my results so far in the journey of losing the infamous baby weight (almost four years later, it sure sticks lol) at melindagetsfit.blogspot.com thanks!
