Your Operation Skinny Jeans

A couple months ago, my friend Alena came to me with an idea. I have been thinking a lot about where I want this blog to go in the future, and how it will evolve as time goes, and her idea totally fit into my vision for the future.

I love youtube. I love watching videos and getting to know other people going through this journey by watching their vlogs. I think it gives a fresh and interesting medium to get to know and connect with other people. Alena agrees. She came up with the idea to follow the journey of 5 (or so) people on this weight loss journey over a period of time, with tips, workout ideas, and recipes peppered in. We decided to call this "Your Operation Skinny Jeans".

The beauty of this is that each of us has a different experience, and that maybe you will identify with each of us in a different way. So many women have stories to share, and we want to give people the platform to do so. Alena and I will obviously be a part of it, but we need some more women who want to join us.

We will start the first week of January, on the 5th, giving people some time to recoup from the holidays. You will be expected to record and upload a video weekly to the channel, and share your journey openly. I specify that because you will be on video talking about your experiences. We are looking for women who want to make a change in 2015. You don't have to have a specific amount of weight to lose because we believe that every women, no matter where she is in her journey, can help other women.

The first series will be a commitment of 3 months. So if you see any conflict of being able to participate weekly (and in other communications and planning sessions with us) for the first 3 months of the year, keep that in mind. At 3 months we will decide if we want to switch it up, or keep going with the same group. The videos will be 3-5 minutes long, and range from topics we discuss weekly in planning.

This is a great opportunity to gain some accountability, and support from a group of women, as well as help other women along this journey. If this sounds like something you are interested in, email me at jess@operationskinnyjeans.com. Alena and I will review all the applications and probably set up a video chat so we can get to know you and your ability to speak coherently on video. That part is kinda important :D

I am super excited for this next step and to be able to share your journeys and experiences with the world.
