The "Magic Pill" to success

I was working on a completely different post, one I will use sometime next week, but I felt like switching gears after getting multiple comments asking how I stay motivated or about my determination. I have written other things similar, but I am okay saying it again.

I feel like we (we as a people, in general) think that success is something that happens to lucky people. Something we just aren't destined to have. So and so lost a lot of weight because they were lucky, or it was easy for them, or they had a trainer or some edge that "I" don't have. We say things like "I wish I had your determination!" or "Can I borrow some of your motivation!" while we sit back and think to ourselves "I could never achieve that. She has something I don't have."

I think it's easier to sit back and think that there is some reason, outside ourselves, why we can't succeed. We aren't athletic enough, we don't have enough money for healthy food, we can't afford a gym membership, we don't have a treadmill, we don't have TIME, we have kids, we work long hours, etc etc etc. How many times have you said these things to yourself? I know I have!

I have some hard truths for you. Sit down, because it might hurt.

You are not an exception. I am not special. Every person you see that has SUCCEEDED at weight loss (or anything, for that matter) started right where you are. They were a busy mom, they were depressed, they had all the cards stacked against them but they had one thing that you don't have.

Belief.

They believed in themselves. That's the key to success my friends, and it is simple and it is a cold hard truth. You don't need money, time, resources, any of that to succeed if you JUST believe in yourself.

You want to know how I stay determined? I wake up every day and decide to try. It's THAT simple.
You want to know how I bounce back from setbacks? I decide to.
You want to know how I stay motivated? I believe I am worth being better, so I do it.

The people you admire, the people you wish you could be like only have one thing you don't have. They believe they can.

You want some motivation? You want determination? Decide to do it. Decide to have it. Those things aren't like a million dollars. You don't have to earn motivation and determination. You can just decide to have them and then you do. You have to decide every day, and that isn't easy, but that's how you do it.

That's the secret. That's the "magic pill" we are all taking. It's in you too, you just have to do it.

Decide.

Decide to believe in yourself. I wholeheartedly believe that what the mind believes, the body achieves. You can LITERALLY do anything you believe you can do. If you don't believe, with all your being, that you CAN be successful at losing weight, you won't do it. You will fill yourself with self doubt, with lies and hate and you will be right. You can't do it. But trade those thoughts for positivity, affirmation and determination, and you will be AMAZED at what you can accomplish.

Think about it this weekend. Why can't you succeed? Why not you? If you can come up with a good answer, please let me know. Email me, Facebook me, instagram, twitter whatever, but I want to know if there is one legitimate reason you CAN'T do it. I don't think there is one.

It won't be easy. It won't come quickly. But you can do it.

Believe.
