Pics or it didn't happen

I feel like sometimes in our social media centric world, we live by this mantra. We are constantly documenting our lives through pictures, so it really is like it didn't happen if we didn't take pictures of it.

I have said this before and I will say it again, I am not a fitness robot. I don't live-eat-breathe fitness. I am a girl who lives her life and makes healthier choices most of the time. And most of the time, I don't take pictures of it. I don't think that pictures of what people are eating is particularly exciting, so you won't see me taking pictures of my food. I also am not always up for a sweaty selfie. I do believe that you can workout without taking a picture to prove it lol.

But that being said, I am working on getting back into a routine. My workouts over the last few months have been... sporadic. I wasn't following a schedule, I would do it if I had time or felt like it, but there was no routine. So for the purposes of getting back into a routine, I am going to start taking more workout pics, for personal accountability.

I may not post them on instagram and Facebook every day- god that would get old- but if taking them keeps me accountable, I will try it! I am feeling pretty good this week. Its Thursday- I haven't skipped a workout yet, woo, and tomorrow is rest day (double woo) so who knows what will happen :D

But in general, I plan on continuing to not document every time I sweat and everything I eat in pictures. I promise you would be bored out of your damn minds.

  1. 1. I hate that phrase - so thank you for confronting it head on:). 2. This quote has been resignating in my brain:

"Be more than your body. Achieving your fitness goals is great but be more than that. Be spiritual, be well read, think independently, be informed on what’s going on in the world. So many people get consumed with their diet and workouts that they become one dimensional and oh so very boring."

  2. Hey, just found your blog yesterday and have been reading a lot of posts. I just wanted to say props to you for your weight loss so far and thanks for writing. I'm not going to say that skinny people have nothing to offer me, but as someone who hasn't seen the other side of 200 in a really long time, it's sometimes hard to accept advice or motivation from a 140lb girl with rock hard abs, who's biggest problem was being 5lbs overweight.

I recently started drinking shakeology and am in the middle of the three day refresh right now. I saw that you did it a while back and I was just wondering how things went afterwards. Did those pounds stay off? I know you're a beachbody coach so maybe you can't be too honest if they crept back on, but you strike me as honest so I thought I'd ask. Good luck with your journey!

I would love to hear from you! Have something to say? Say it here!
