The last year in progress

Have you entered the Holiday Hoopla giveaway yet? Gah the prizes are amazing and I wish I could enter!
Oh man how time flies. It was just a year ago that I decided to get serious and make this whole getting healthy thing work for me. I had tried for a dress and for a date and for my husband, but this was the first time I was doing this for ME. Because I finally felt like I was WORTH it. That is why it finally stuck.

Losing weight is hard. You have to put effort into it every single day. And there are definitely days where you don’t want to. But I promise it is worth it. I have lost 50 lbs because I make the choice every single day. Some days I fail. Some days I succeed. But every day I make the choice to try.

So here are some progress pics from the last year.

Summer 2012 vs November 2013
Fun fact about that last pic. 6 years ago at a family Christmas party I won that pullover in a game, but it never fit me. Not even close! But it is a really freaking nice pullover (5.11 Tactical for Fire Fighters if you are curious) so I held on to it. I have tried it on a couple times with no avail, but yesterday I put it on and it fits wonderfully. It's a Mens L and I LOVE how it looks and feels. And I feel amazing in it. So I took an awkward work bathroom selfie to commemorate the moment lol

I was a size 26 when I started, today I am a size 16. I was 285 lbs, today I am 238.8. I have lost 25 inches from my body, most in my bust, waist and hips. I can run a whole mile without stopping. I can dead lift 90 lbs. I can do things I never thought possible. I have way more confidence and I FEEL sexy, even naked. I know I can do anything I put my mind to, and I know that I will succeed no matter what.

The last year has had it's ups and downs, but I am happy with my progress. For more progress photos, check out the progress tab :D
