Holy buckets guys! I have been writing about my weight loss journey here on Operation Skinny Jeans for a whole year!

It has been such an amazing experience getting to know all of you and your weight loss journeys. I can not even begin to express how grateful I have been through this whole experience. So to celebrate, I am going to share some of my favorite moments.

Here is when I ran my 2nd 5K. It was such a huge thing for me because it had been over a year since my first one. It was hard as hell and freezing cold, but I was so proud when it was over. I now run that same 3 miles at least once a week, which is really fun to think about how far I have come with that.

If you are curious- here is a recap of my FIRST 5K (on my old blog). It is amazing to see how far I have come since then! It took 30 minutes to do just 1 mile! It really is amazing how far I have come!
That's my nephew. I thought it would be a good idea to run my first 5K with a 1 year old in a stroller. I was not the smartest person ever lol
Next was that awesome moment when I hit my first big milestone- 30 lbs down! I was so proud of that and it was the first time I really realized that I COULD succeed at losing weight.

There is a moment I will never forget in my life, and that was the first time I ran a whole mile without stopping. It was such an amazing moment for me and I started to believe in myself and my ability to be an athlete.

Another awesome time was when you guys wanted to get to know me better, so I recorded some video Q&A. They are silly and fun, and will probably make you laugh lol.

Part 4....

I finally broke down and got my blood sugar and cholesterol tested. It was kinda terrifying because Type 2 Diabetes runs in my family, but I was so proud to find out that my cholesterol and blood sugar are in the perfectly healthy range. If you have been putting this off, don't. It opened my eyes and if there had been something off, I would want to know so I could work to correct it.

Then there was this insanely exciting time that I was on the local news. I felt like a celebrity lol. 7 News came out to my apartment and filmed a news story about me and my blog and my weight loss journey. It was such a cool experience! Here is a link to the video on their website :D
This is a screen shot of the video, so clicking on it won't make it play lol, just fyi!
I ran a mud run which was probably one of the hardest things I have ever done. Holy hell. But it gave me the mud run bug and now I am hoping to run the Tough Mudder next year.

I opened up about my binge eating problems and got a ton of encouragement from you guys to keep talking about it. I haven't had the guts to spill more recently, but I am working up to it!

Then there was that really awesome time (a few weeks ago) that I realized I am now a size 16! I completely skipped 18's by wearing pants that were obscenely big for me for too long lol. But it was a pretty awesome revelation.

And those have been my favorite moments. I realized as I wrote this I have lots of year progress things I wanna share, so this is just the first of a couple posts about my progress in the last year. I am so excited to finish 2013 strong and kick major ass in 2014.

Have you made progress in 2013? How long have you been blogging? I would love to hear what your favorite moments or posts from my blog have been!

  4. I just recently (like 2 days ago) came across your blog and so this recap of the last year was really nice to see what you've done in the last yar (I just went back and read all the posts you linked too) I too remember when I couldn't run more than 1 minute straight and now even though I run intervals I know I CAN run at least a 5k without any walking and can complete a half marathon). I've been blogging since August and blog about many things (running and races included) and on my 30 before 30 (30x30 label) list I have several running goals! You have come a long way in a year, CONGRATS on it all! and being on the news, that's super awesome!!
