Operation Skinny Jeans: Aquatober!

I can't wait to tell you all about how CrossFit went on Friday. I will be sharing all the hairy deets tomorrow! And I promise a Skinny Jean Fit Camp wrap up is coming, I am collecting before and after pics of participants to share. 

But today, I have a proposition. Last year, one of my favorite blogs, Young House Love, threw down a challenge to drink ONLY water in the month of October. I completely failed. So this year, as October was steadily approaching, I decided to give it another try! This month, for the WHOLE month, I will be drinking nothing but water. Exceptions are milks (real and soy/almond) Tea and Coffee (because they are mostly water anyway, if you need them) but no juice, soda, or anything else that has artificial stuff in it.

When I started trying to lose weight with Weight Watchers, I became addicted to Diet Coke. I have been off WW for over 6 months, but I still can't quite kick the habit! Not only does drinking water cleanse your system, it is absolutely essential in weight loss.

So I am issuing a challenge! For the whole month of October, drink nothing but water. And just like with anything else, if you slip up, just start again with the next thing you drink. Hopefully by the end of the month drinking water will just be second nature.

"But what about beer???" you (Marcy) are asking. Well, I am giving that up too. I have had a terrible time losing recently and I have also started drinking beer recently. Coincidence? (maybe not) BUT I am going to try my darndest.

  2. I am in! I am an addict of crystal light packets! I may have to limit myself to at least one per day for flavor, but I will work on cutting it out all together :)

  3. LOVE this idea!! I typically only do soy milk and water but a few times a month a Dr. Pepper seems to fall into my hands. I am going to make an effort for only water this month!

  4. It can be done. I gave up all drinks except for water on March 28th of this year. Since then I can count on one hand how many times I've had something other than water. I have had zero carbinated drinks since then. This comes from a girl that drank real coke (not the diet kind) all day long every day prior to March. I can honestly say generally I have zero cravings for anything other than water now. If I do want some flavor, I might at a Crystal Light packet or lemon juice to my water, but mostly it's just pure H2O. Best wishes on Aquatober. You can do it and you'll be glad you did.

  5. cool idea! i totally feel guilty when i buy a vitamin water or gatorade...it's either sugary calories or crazy chemicals to make it taste good. bring on the H2O!

  7. I'm sooo with you!! I've been trying to do this for a while but I was also trying to completely cut out caffeine and it was all a bit much haha... but if I can still have coffee??? done. :-)

  8. Not going to lie, sounds scary! When you first mentioned it the other day I thought about it, but then quickly said no since I will not give up milk, EVER. So now that you mentioned that milk is a go, then I might just have to be in! Thanks again for all the motivation!

  10. This is a great challenge! I have gotten to the point that I drink so much water that I crave it when I get thirsty.
