Yoga in the Streets

Happy Monday! Today is the last day of the Skinny Jean Fit Camp, so expect a wrap up post later this week with lots of before and after pics! Unfortunately I will not be doing another camp following this one. At this time I don't have the time or resources to put my whole heart into it, and I don't want to do anything half assed. However, Ash from A Step in the Right Direction and I are doing a Diet Bet and you should definitely join! It starts on October 7th and is only $20 to join. The pot is already up to $100 AND on the 9th, Ash and I will draw a person who we will refund their bet amount so you can potentially compete for free! How awesome is that!?

Anyhoo- I wanted to tell you all about Yoga in the Streets. Live Well Colorado closed down a busy street in Downtown Denver and set up rows of yoga mats for a lunchtime yoga session. In the midst of all the hustle and bustle of downtown, there was an odd sense of calm and serenity on that street.

I don't know what was more awesome. Practicing yoga on my lunch break,

Or doing so in a public street with lots of people.

I always feel a sense of community with the other people I practice, but this day I felt especially connected with all the people looking to improve their health, both mentally and physically, on their lunch breaks.

I think this event really solidified my love of yoga. I finish feeling so accomplished and centered, and no other workout feeds my soul that way. So thank you Live Well Colorado for inviting me to this awesome event, and thank you even more for continuing to make a difference in people's lives.

Also thank you Colorado for being so health conscious and supporting of those seeking better health. I love that the local news considers this kind of public demonstration news worthy, so check out this cool news story about the event :D

  1. Ugh. I was hoping the news wouldn't catch me on camera. And they did. Regardless, it was an awesome event!

  2. What a cool event! I just started doing Yoga last week and I'm loving it so far! I'm not sure if I would be confident enough to do it in the streets, I'm just trying to master enough for my kids to stop laughing at me :)

  3. That's actually so cool! I wish I lived somewhere that would do something like this.... Although, I am horrible at yoga so public humiliation would probably prevent me from going :-) I'm lucky if I get to the gym! ughhh working on it....
