I dreamed a dream….

Ok so nothing "Fantine" serious, but I did have a dream.

Growing up, I loved dance. I loved watching people dance, I loved dancing, and I wanted to be a dancer. But we never had the means to enroll me in dance, and once I hit puberty, I didn't have the body to dance either.

I took a few dance/theatre classes in high school and college and I loved them. I love moving my body to music and I love being in sync with other people. Plus it's fun.

One of my goals when I get down to my goal weight is to take a real dance class, and try to dance for real. This is definitely motivating for me.

Another random fact (I promise they tie into each other lol) is that I am friends with some internet-famous parody musicians that are particularly popular in the are of nerdy fandoms, called Not Literally. Yes I am a nerd, learn to love it :D. Last fall, I had the awesome privilege of being a part of the filming of one of their music videos for a Gryffindors parody (yes, Harry Potter)

Anyhoo, back to the point, they are making another one coming up and they are auditioning dancers on Saturday. I have decided, 35 lbs down from the filming of this video, that I am going to try out.

This is HUGE for me and I am super excited. I know that I wont be awesome (heck or even good) but I want to push myself out of my comfort zone and try for something I really want. There is a very good chance I wont get it, which I am okay with. But it sure doesn't hurt to try, right!

I will let you know next week how it went, and if I was cast. I am going to give it 120%!

Have you had any dreams you never got to live out? Have you ever been an extra in a nerdy internet music video? just me? hm…. Should I dress like Flashdance?

I think yes :D

  2. No laughs-but I seriously have always wanted to be a Dallas Cowboy Cheerleader. I wanted to try out when I was at my peak fitness, but I ended up pregnant. I am quickly approaching 38 and know that I would be laughed out of the cattle call room, but I can fantsize right?

  8. Why wait?! You ought to do it now! If there was a class near me with suitable times, I'd be right back into ballet, no sweat!! The thing is with dancing, everyone is so concerned about their own body, they've got no time to pay attention to yours. The ladies I was in classes with before were by no means ballerina bodies and of all ages, adult classes are brilliant!

    I love dancing!!
