Growing up, I loved dance. I loved watching people dance, I loved dancing, and I wanted to be a dancer. But we never had the means to enroll me in dance, and once I hit puberty, I didn't have the body to dance either.
I took a few dance/theatre classes in high school and college and I loved them. I love moving my body to music and I love being in sync with other people. Plus it's fun.
One of my goals when I get down to my goal weight is to take a real dance class, and try to dance for real. This is definitely motivating for me.
Another random fact (I promise they tie into each other lol) is that I am friends with some internet-famous parody musicians that are particularly popular in the are of nerdy fandoms, called Not Literally. Yes I am a nerd, learn to love it :D. Last fall, I had the awesome privilege of being a part of the filming of one of their music videos for a Gryffindors parody (yes, Harry Potter)
Anyhoo, back to the point, they are making another one coming up and they are auditioning dancers on Saturday. I have decided, 35 lbs down from the filming of this video, that I am going to try out.
This is HUGE for me and I am super excited. I know that I wont be awesome (heck or even good) but I want to push myself out of my comfort zone and try for something I really want. There is a very good chance I wont get it, which I am okay with. But it sure doesn't hurt to try, right!
I will let you know next week how it went, and if I was cast. I am going to give it 120%!
Have you had any dreams you never got to live out? Have you ever been an extra in a nerdy internet music video? just me? hm…. Should I dress like Flashdance?
I think yes :D
