Commit to Fit and Week 6 Weigh In

So I have been casually mentioning the Commit to Fit challenge I have coming up, so I figured I should give you a little more info on that and what it is :)

The Rec Center in my town is putting on a "Biggest Loser" style weight loss challenge that I decided to participate in. For 8 weeks, I will be a part of a 3 person team working with a personal trainer twice a week and participating in a weekly boot camp. We will be meeting with a nutritionist and weighing in weekly. At the end of 8 weeks, the team with the biggest percentage of weight loss wins a prize, and the top 3 "biggest losers" win prizes too.

I am so excited to start this challenge! I am excited to test my body and my strength by working out harder than I ever have. I am excited to prove that I can do anything I put my mind to, and I am excited to have a team of people with the same goals that I have. I want to win. More than anything I want to win :)

I have set a few goals for the challenge to keep me on track.
  1. I want to do this challenge 100%. I will go to every work out, eat everything I am told to, and not cheat. I know this will be my greatest challenge, to not quit if its hard, or come up with some excuse not to work out. If I don't, I am not allowed to buy anything for our house for 6 months. Any time I deviate from the plan after the first time, I lose another month. This might not seem motivational to some, but this would be the hardest punishment of my life. This is a huge reason for me to succeed. 
  2. I want to lose at least 2 lbs a week, for a total of 16 by the end of the challenge. I am currently losing an average of 1.5 a week, so I am confident I will be able to do this. For losing 16 lbs, I get to buy a new outfit :)
  3. I obviously want to win :) I don't care what the prize is, I want it. Winning is a huge motivation to me, and I will work my ass off to do so. 
  4. I want to run a mile. On top of my personal training and boot camps, I want to run 5 days a week. By the end of the program, I want to run a mile.
  5. The program includes a weekly pass to use the gym. I will use this time to take different classes to keep things interesting. I want to find what work outs I like to keep myself motivated, and I think variety will keep things interesting :)
So there you go! I am so excited to start! Last night we had our pre program testing, and I am so ready to get those numbers down. Tomorrow night is our first meeting and I get to meet my teammates and trainer. I will update weekly how its going on Tuesdays so look forward to that :)

Oh yeah, I weighed in yesterday too :) This week I lost another 1.8! I am thrilled by this progress! :)  When I stepped on the scale, I was really shocked to see I was really in the 250's! I havn't been in the 250's in 5 years! This is a very exciting milestone for me :) AND I also hit 5% at WW! I decided to update my progress numbers to match my Weight Watchers weight. I post pics of my tracker, and I didnt want you all to get confused. And honestly I am proud of how far I have come, and I wanna show it off.   My next goal is 10% which is 27 lbs! I am so excited to hit that and keep on going!! :)



Have you ever done a weight loss challenge? How did you do? What motivates you to succeed? Do you prefer rewards or punishments (we call them Carrots and Sticks)? Any advise? Truth be told, I'm a little scurred :)

  1. Congrats on the loss! I'm struggling to get out of the 240's and I cannot wait until the day that I do (hopefully soon!). The challenge sounds great and you seem to have an excellent plan in place. Good luck!
